Lee Lambert has been bugging me to have a good portrait done, and highly recommended that I speak with Janet Ryan when I got to KCMO.

I wrote Janet beforehand and she agreed to talk about pictures. I had NO idea where we were going to do it, much less when, since we all seemed to be running around like crazy all weekend. Right before the contest started, Janet grabbed me, took me into a staircase, and shot a handful of pictures. This and the following image are my two favorites.
