What an amazing event that raised close to EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS in a single afternoon!! Hooker (Rik Newton-Treadway) and his boys put on a star studded event that crosses all borders -- into the drag, rodeo, leather and straight communities to raise money for worthy causes. I was honored to be a part of the event this year, as it benefitted the American Liver Foundation for a transplant in the name of Raymond Reeder. Thanks to the support of the Transplant Resource Center of Maryland, I was able to pass out to the attendees pens, brochures, bumper stickers and Donate Life insignia, in memory of yet another tragic loss of life while awaiting a transplant.
The crowd was amazing, and the energy astounding. So many people were brought together on a Saturday before Christmas -- including Master Mike Zuhl, SIR Robert Davis and boy ivan of the International LeatherSir/boy Family and countless others. Needless to say, many of the guests just HAD to get their last minute wishes in to Mr and Mrs Claus while they were there! I cannot think of two more ideal people to be sandwiched in between -- the beautiful First Lady of Leather, Mary Elizabeth Boyd, and the handsome Al Santora.
Hooker and crew are also the producers of the Maryland LeatherSIR/boy contest, held each March. Their website is Hooker and Boys Productions.
